From EV to LV: Scalable purification using membrane chromatography

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) and lentiviral vectors (LVs) are transforming the future of cell and gene therapy, but their fragility makes purification uniquely difficult. Both modalities are highly sensitive to shear stress, pH shifts, and osmotic pressure, and conventional purification methods often fall short.

This webinar shows how weak anion-exchange (AEX) membrane chromatography offers a gentler, more scalable route for both modalities. The speakers will compare the approach to an established strong AEX workflow and present new lentiviral vector data on functional recovery, residence time, and protein depletion during loading. In addition, the webinar will also show application of weak anion exchange chromatography for effective purification of EVs.

Attend this webinar to:

  • Understand why EVs and LVs require purification methods matched to their fragility, rather than workflows adapted from other modalities
  • See how weak AEX membranes improve exosome recovery compared with strong AEX by ~14%
  • Learn how a purpose-designed AEX membrane delivered around 3.5-fold higher functional LV recovery at large scale compared to a standard Q-membrane process, regardless of residence time
  • Discover how weak AEX loading removes up to 90% of host cell proteins early in the process
