We at Bioinsights ("us", "we", "our") take data protection and privacy seriously and aim to comply with all applicable data protection regulations and laws. This privacy notice outlines our commitment to protecting the personal data of our customers (current or potential), partners, website visitors, and end users ("you", "your") and describes how we collect, use, and share personal information when you explore or utilize our services ("Services").

What data we collect and how we collect it.

  • Name, job title and organisation, email address, and other contact information when you register and access content or for a webinar
  • Other contact and location details when you access our services
  • Analytics information when you browse our website

What we do with the data

This information is used by us to:

  • Contact you by email to draw your attention to new articles, interviews and other free access content in which we believe you will have an interest
  • Contact you by email to provide you the chance to register for free webinars, and/or send you a strictly limited number of emails from our sponsors (with consent)
  • When you register for a webinar, membership campaigns, fast fact, or any sponsored content on our website, we share the information you provide with the associated sponsor (if you consent). You have the chance when you register to opt in to be contacted by the sponsor. If you do not opt in, they will not send you any emails. Aside from this, we do not share, outsource or offshore your information with anyone outside our company and only use it to contact you. We respect your privacy and will not sell or pass this information to anyone unless required by law.

By registering to access content or attend a webinar, you understand that you are providing this information to us voluntarily and there is a legitimate reason for us to retain this information to make you aware of similar content or webinars in the future.

We also may utilize your contact details and analyze web/email/survey analytics to perform marketing activities. We utilize either your consent for this where appropriate, or legitimate interests otherwise (like for business to business advertising) to help us best communicate with and provide relevant content to you.

Separately, we may obtain the following on the basis of our legitimate interests:

  • Business contact information from third-parties for the purposes of communicating with potential customers
  • Job application and resume/CV submissions to help you explore working with us
  • Analytics and metrics

Data sharing and transfers

We do not share or transfer your information with any third-parties other than for the purposes of providing Bioinsights with services such as providing you access to our Services, data storage and hosting, customer and prospect management, and analytics. Our subprocessors, in any case, do not process your information for their own purposes. 

Data shared with sponsors is only done when explicit opt-in is given.

Any transfers of information sourced from the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK to outside these regions will only be done under adequate and compliant measures, utilizing standard contractual clauses, transfer impact assessments, sufficient technical and organizational controls, and/or other adequacy measures.

Data security and retention

We have put into place robust technical and organizational security measures (such as encryption of data at rest and in transit, need-to-know access controls) to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed.
