Automating clinical-grade allogeneic cell therapy manufacturing: NorthX and Mendus case study in tech transfer, efficiency, and scale-out

This webinar examines the automation decisions that shape technology transfer, scaling, and GMP-compliant production in cell therapy manufacturing. Drawing on a real-world case study from NorthX Biologics and Mendus, and using an allogeneic dendritic cell immune therapy as the worked example, the speakers will show how early process design influences transfer success, product consistency, and the route to clinical and commercial supply.

Attendees will also gain a practical overview of automation with hollow-fiber perfusion technology and its applications, including CAR-T, TCR-T, MSCs, and iPSCs, and of when and how to bring automation into a workflow.

Attend this webinar to:

  • Apply a framework for deciding when and how to implement automation in support of clinical and commercial manufacturing goals
  • Learn from a real-world technology transfer case study covering the move from biotech development to clinical-grade, automated cell manufacturing
  • Understand how hollow-fiber bioreactor technology and continuous perfusion support process development, GMP-compliant production, and future scaling
  • Gain insights into what needs to be in place to reduce hands-on labor, lower process variability, and support robust manufacturing under real-world challenges, such as scaling and deviations
