Cell and gene therapies (CGT) have gained medical acceptance because of their curative potential, yet patient access remains constrained by cost of goods, manufacturing and supply chain complexity, proximity to suitable hospitals, and development cycles complicated by patient to patient variability. Increasingly, AI is being positioned not as a peripheral addon, but as a foundational enabler for the field. It is my privilege to introduce this month’s edition of CGT Insights with an inaugural AI focus, where the authors explore how machine learning (ML) and AI can improve multiple stages of the therapeutic lifecycle.
